I'm Diego, a musician, writer and longtime participant in Argentina's independent music scene.

For more than twenty years, music has been a constant: playing in bands, writing songs, seeing shows, discovering records and spending time around the people who make independent scenes possible. I've been part of projects including Ecocidio, a vegan straight-edge metal/hardcore band, and Stocolmo, an indie rock band.

That interest extends beyond the songs themselves. I collect and restore vintage guitars and amplifiers, and I've worked on the visual side of music too, designing covers, inserts and artwork for CDs, cassettes and digital releases. Video direction is another part of that same curiosity about how music looks and feels.

I write about records and artists that give me something to think about, not because everything needs a review. My work has appeared in The Spill Magazine ↗ and In Your Eyes Ezine ↗, covering punk, post-punk, garage rock and the less easily categorized music in between. I also write about film, with the same interest in atmosphere, performance and the things that stay with you after the credits.

I've also spent nearly twenty years working in marketing and communications. It's a separate professional life that has made me think a lot about the relationship between independence, audiences and commerce. With music, I still come back to the same things: curiosity, honesty, and the value of doing something on your own terms.
